Our flagship experience: a wild and local feast rooted in the landscape.
The Seasonal Feast is really the true essence of what Eat the Country was always about. Part wild-food adventure, part celebration of local producers all summed up by like minded people sitting down to share a seasonal feast which captures the flavour of an area or region.
We’ll begin by exploring the surrounding countryside on a guided seasonal walk. You’ll discover edible plants, unexpected flavours, wild medicines, dangerous plants and the stories and folklore that have grown around them.
Returning to the venue, be it a farm shop, brewery, winery, hotel, pub etc. We’ll sit down for a multi-course tasting feast combining wild ingredients with outstanding local produce. Depending on the venue and season, the experience might include cooking over fire, demonstrations, meeting local producers or stories shared around the table.
The emphasis is on the idea of ‘what does this place taste like?’ What flavours does nature give us this time of year and what grows or is produced here at the same time. We’ll explore how people work with nature and how eating from the land connects us to the region and to our ancestors.
It’s a celebration, but also rebelling against the idea that food is just fuel to be bought over a beeping counter.

No two Seasonal Feasts will be exactly alike. The menu, location and format will reflect the season, the landscape and the producers taking part.
